NEWS: OptaPro Forum guest speaker announced

OptaPro is delighted to announce that Dennis Lock, Director of Analytics at the Miami Dolphins, will deliver the guest talk at the 2017 OptaPro Analytics Forum.

Now in his fourth season with the Dolphins, serving as Director of Analytics since February 2015, Dennis will offer a unique insight into his role and the team’s implementation of advanced analytical processes, which began with Dennis’ initial appointment. In his current role, Dennis primarily supports football operations through statistical analysis and research.

Practical application within an elite sporting environment will also be at the core of Dennis’ talk. Having been at the fulcrum of the Dolphins’ adoption of a data culture within their performance setup, Dennis’s first-hand experiences will provide an excellent cross-learning opportunity for delegates at the February event.

Dennis received his PhD in statistics from Iowa State University with a dissertation on utilising statistics in sports. While at Iowa State, Dennis served as a consultant for several academic departments as well as the Iowa State University men's basketball team. During this time, he was also a co-author on a prominent statistics textbook, Statistics: Unlocking the Power of Data.
