NEWS: OptaPro to host panel session at SAC Australia

OptaPro is to host a panel at the Sports Analytics World Series conference in Australia, taking place on 10th August 2018.

Federations and clubs are expected to work with multiple streams of data to monitor, analyse and influence performance. Likewise, players now find themselves heeding advice from an extensive backroom team beyond a coach and his assistant. Through the eyes of two major sports federations in ANZ, this panel discusses how modern-day data application has shaped their methodologies in the pursuit of success.

Panellists

Cathal Garvey, Head of Game Analysis at Rugby Australia

Cathal has been at Rugby Australia since 2012, joining as a business analyst. In 2014 Cathal became head performance analyst, a role which he has held for over four years.

Cathal applies data and video analysis to support coaching and management, providing insight that focuses on supporting the side at first team level.

Paul Warren, Performance Analysis Manager at New Zealand Cricket

Paul has been with the BLACKCAPS since 2013, where he joined as a performance analyst. In his role, Paul works closely with coaches to apply data and technology to influence and inform performance.

The session will be moderated by Steve Cliffe, Senior Commercial Manager, Opta & OptaPro.
